Ever feel defeated because of circumstances beyond your control? Feeling hopeless and no where or no one to turn to? Feeling broken and downcast is common and normal for all of us. So... how do you overcome it? How do you remain optimistic? Hopeful? Well, I'm here to tell you that there's good news in Christ Jesus.
The wars you fight within, the negative thoughts overwhelming you CAN be fought against, and fought against fiercely because of the power and might of Jesus Christ. Exodus 14:14. Your suffering is not in vain, it has a purpose. Your suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. Romans 5:3-5. The hardest part to remember in the midst of suffering is that Jesus has already won the war. We are victorious in Christ. Now, I don't say this to minimize your suffering, rather your suffering is purposeful because it builds you up into the person God has created you to be.
The suffering while hard to go through, there's comfort in knowing in the end, you are victorious in Christ because he has overcome the world. John 16:33. The reminder of victory makes our sufferings, trials, hardships purposeful, makes us more confidence and assured we can and we will get through this.
Rejoice in your suffering because it produces fruit within you. The fruit of faithfulness comes when you persevere through hardships, struggles serving Christ and anything you are struggling with. The fruit of Character making you more consistent in your morals, beliefs, values guiding you through the suffering. And finally hope. Hope that never fails because Christ is enduring, everlasting, powerful and a healer. Hope that you will be healed, that relationships are reconciled, that the work of preaching and proclaiming the gospel reaches all the nations, that you are healed from addictions, rescued from a broken home.
You are strong in Christ.
